There’s strong evidence to show that CBT-based groups and courses are beneficial for coping with depression.
The course will look at: –

  • how we can identify low mood in our daily lives
  • how to identify unhelpful thinking patterns
  • how to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns
  • how to take action in changing behaviour and lifestyle habits to become more effective in managing depression.

To help you become your own therapist, the facilitators will recommend some useful ‘homework’ exercises to enable you develop your skills in managing symptoms of depression. They will also provide a range of resources to support the teaching on the course. This includes some user-friendly workbooks written by CBT experts and practitioners.
