Worry Management Workshop

This is a 6 week course focusing on providing you with strategies and techniques to help you manage excessive or overwhelming worry.  The course is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles with the aim of empowering you to be in control of your wellbeing. We will explore the role of ‘thoughts’ and ‘behaviours’ in maintaining distress and uncomfortable feelings, and how we can use specific skills, including relaxation techniques, to improve our management of worry and how we feel.

Details: 6 sessions, weekly. 1 hour 30 minutes

The aims of the course are to:

  • Learn what CBT is and how it can help to better manage worry
  • Understand the cycle of anxiety and worry and how it impacts our emotions and behaviours
  • Help to develop a worry management toolbox including strategies for managing worried thoughts
  • Reduce the impact of worrying on your sleep
  • Improve problem solving and assertiveness skills
  • Develop relaxation skills
  • Planning for the future and moving forward
