Behavioural Couples Therapy

What is Behavioural Couples Therapy?

Behavioural Couples Therapy (BCT) is an approach that can help couples with the emotional problems that can arise between partners, especially when one or both people are depressed. BCT aims to directly tackle depressed feelings by working on relieving stress, improving communication, managing feelings and changing behaviour, solving problems and promoting acceptance, and revising perceptions. This therapy sees the couple as one patient and as such both parties need to be willing to attend appointments.
